Pastoral Care, Janice Ryan

The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1

What is the Pastoral Care Committee?

The Pastoral Care Committee is a group of parishioners, known as “shepherds”, from St. Michael’s Episcopal Church who have volunteered to do what many of us do informally everyday – lend a helping hand, offer a shoulder to cry on, provide a warm meal, home-cooked with love and care.

What does a shepherd do?

Each shepherd quietly “tends” to several St. Michael’s parishioners and may check-in with an occasional phone call to say “hello” or a quick chat during coffee hour. If a fellow parishioner needs support, assistance, or a sympathetic ear, his or her shepherd will be there to help and/or listen.

How may I help?

The Pastoral Care Committee needs more shepherds. If you are interested in being a shepherd or helping in another way, such as cooking a meal or baking a treat for a parishioner, please contact Janice Ryan.
